I started this article and I realize it is too long. The entire section of the Buffalo Tragedy of 1877 could be another article in its self. I was concerned that it was not notable in of its self. H'mmm ...

I had a picture of Major Nicholas M. Nolan taken in 1882 before his death. It is an historical image, but it appears it may have been a family picture loaned. Thus I am not using it until I can determine its rightful use.

Some sections may need to be trimmed. I am aware of that. Some of that material will update articles already on Wikipedia. Example: Henry Ossian Flipper. This may take a few days or more, so please be patient.
