Lead

[edit]
  • appearance at a Summer Paralympic Games - shouldn't this be appearance at the Summer Paralympic Games?
  • You've classified Holmann as only being a sprinter but he competed in the 800m which isn't sprint but middle distance.

Background

[edit]
  • At the close of the Rio Paralympics, Nicaragua has not medalled at the Paralympic Games. Shouldn't this be past tense.
  • See second coment for lead.
  • A ceremony was held on behalf of the team on 28 July 2016 maybe mention that this was together with athletes sent to the olympics as well.

Athletics

[edit]
  • With a season-best effort of 58.50 seconds, he improved his personal best time for the second successive Paralympic event for sixth out of seven competitors what do you mean by sixth out of seven competitors, do you mean he finished sixth out of seven? Also the season best is redundent as it says later on it was a personal best.
  • He came fifth out of six athletes with a personal best and an improved his own Central American record time to 2 minutes and 16.21 seconds. Has a grammatical error but still sounds weird when you fix it and repeats info which is already heavily implied. I suggest He came fifth out of six athletes beating his own Central American record with a time of 2 minutes and 16.21 seconds.

Powerlifting

[edit]
  • behalf doesn't sound right as Nicaragua is neither a person nor organistation. Perhaps compete for Nicaragua or compete under the Nicaraguan(?) flag would sound better.
  • These Rio Summer Paralympics were the first time that he competed in the multi-sport competition. the wording here doesn't sound right and is unecessarily complicated. Perhaps This was the first time he competed in the paralympics would work better?
  • but he has avoided the use of a wheelchair and instead uses a cane to help him walk. should be past tense?
  • The result header should be changed to wieght lifted (possible in {{abbr}}) and show the units (i.e. kg).

Final comments

[edit]

Overall this is good there are just a couple of things that need sorting out, I will therefore put this review on hold pending these improvements. SSSB (talk) 09:17, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • @SSSB: Many thanks for your comments. Have addressed all bar changing the text mentioning Acevado's wheelchair from present to past tense because the individual concerned is still alive and may also qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. MWright96 (talk) 12:53, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • @MWright96: you misunderstood my Holmann middle distance comment, he is both middle distance and a sprinter. I've been bold and changed this. I am happy to promote this to GA status, congrats. SSSB (talk) 13:05, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
