Ngati Tama and Greg White

[edit]

The information about the iwi and its resigned executive development officer is a matter of public record-sourced to different newspapers as sourced in edit summaries. Ngati Tama have said publically they are embarressed by the whole mess. The financial mess appears to stem from the alleged fact that the financial records were not audited for 6 years. In addition- it is also historcal fact that Ngati Tama jointly took part in the invasion of the Chatham Islands and the genocide of the indigenous Moriori. Its like saying the Nazis didnt invade Poland (but on a minor scale). Denial of historical fact is not a good look in Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.237.36.191 (talk) 22:06, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Raping women".

I can tell this was written by the colonizers' of the Māori. There was no need for rape amongst Māori then. Polyamory, healthy approaches to sex, takatāpui were all a vital part of life. Slavery, cannibalism, arranged marriage, infanticide, all were known, but not rape. Whakapapa and the aligning of such was important. Ppls' unions were planned by the elders, often at birth. To disrespect women like this brought the wrath of the hapu down upon you. Women held their own mana too, and originally, Polynesian culture was matriarchal. The genitals were immortalized in art and carving. Sex was pleasurable and our ppl pursued each other vigorously! They composed epic poetry about their passionate love affairs, and they personified mountains and rivers. To rape was to sully the wairua and whakapapa of that tangata. 222.152.241.93 (talk) 06:02, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
