It was proposed in this section that Newtown, Cumbria be renamed and moved to Newtown, Wigton.
result: This is template {{subst:Requested move/end}} |
Newtown, Cumbria → Newtown, Wigton – There are several places called Newtown in Cumbria (but only this one has an article). To avoid confusion, move this article to a title that more WP:PRECISEly defines it (in a similar way to Brampton, Carlisle and Brampton, Eden, both in Cumbria). - Support the two Newtown are both tiny and at opposite ends of the county: Newtown, Irthington should be a redirect. In ictu oculi (talk) 16:59, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
- Support Newtown, Allerdale there is one in Newtown & Morton North ward in Carlisle and one in Irthington in Carlisle. Per WP:UKPLACE we use the district not post town if there are multiple in a county. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:06, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
- Support When I created the page there were fewer articles about this part of Cumbria. It makes sense now to make sure the different Newtowns are separated for the sake of clarity. Thanks! Stcuthbertsport (talk) 17:55, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
- Support Allerdale per Crouch, Swale. BegbertBiggs (talk) 22:22, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
