Tables and text are posted directly, including the colours; I don't have the time to reformat them. The colours of the technical information table directly link to the colours of the numerical list table. PatrickDunfordNZ (talk) 03:25, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
Class information excludes some subclasses
[edit]The original basis for the NZDET article was the lists from two sources which omit two subclasses in particular: A&G Price TR 38 type, and Hudswell-Clarke ex-PWD type. As such the NZDET sourced tables omit these subclasses. PatrickDunfordNZ (talk) 03:25, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
Proposed split
[edit]I think this article should be split along the same lines of the NZR RM class articles for rail cars. Thoughts? --Lholden (talk) 23:57, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Added TR's
[edit]I have added Tr's 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 40, 41, 42, 46 to the Rolling Stock list. I don't think they were in NZR service. If anyone finds out of the above 9 locomotives, you can remove them if you guys want. NZ Rail 150 (talk) 23:37, 17 May 2014 (UTC)NZ Rail 150
"Non-NZR" Tr's
[edit]I'm not sure that the list of "Non-NZR" Tr's should exist on the page, especially in the tabulated form - in the case where a locomotive has actually assumed a fictitious NZR identity (i.e. Price 198/Tr 119) I can see merit in noting it, however some of the locos listed shouldn't be under this section (for instance Price 213 - it is painted in a Fruit Salad Type livery but the cabside number plates simply have the number "213", it is not trying to be a "Tr" in the same way as Price 198; meanwhile, Eb 26 was a legitimate NZR Tr and should be included in the actual table rather than the "Non-NZR Tr's" table. Personally I also find the inclusion of the Howard at Plains Railway and the Husky at Oamaru dubious, as they also are not trying to be NZR Tr types although for some reason they have gained a Tr style classification at their home railways at some stage. Thoughts? 117.18.80.18 (talk) 21:20, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
Hi, I have seen your post. I think EB 26 should not be included actual table as it wasn't reclassified 'TR' after it was withdrawn from service and reclassified as TR 1003 when it was under preservation ownership. I will later in the year make an article for the non-NZR TR locos but will add them being reclassified when being in preservation.NZ Rail 150 (talk) 04:10, 12 August 2014 (UTC)NZ Rail 150
TRs still in service
[edit]There appears to be a major gap between the KiwiRail loco lists from 2011 say is in service and what this article says. Can anyone shed any light? The KR list says:
- 1 Drewery (TR 56)
- 5 A&G Price
- 5 Hitatchi
- 7 NZR
For a total of 18, plus one leased to an industry. --LJ Holden 01:55, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
Specification table
[edit]This should be simplified. Given we can easily convert metric to imperial and vice versa, then it makes sense to me to merge the two tables and have both imperial and metric measurements. --LJ Holden 23:18, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
- Agreed, it just seems like a waste of space otherwise. pcuser42 (talk) 05:56, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
- Cool, I started working on it at lunch today but then had to do actual work... haha --LJ Holden 09:46, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
- Done... bit of a nightmare --LJ Holden 20:38, 23 March 2019 (UTC)
