Merge Ottawa Black Bears → New York Riptide, then move New York Riptide → Ottawa Black Bears – Unlike the more nuanced Coyotes/Utah and Browns/Ravens cases, this is a more clear-cut relocation of a franchise. The New York Riptide is being moved to Ottawa with a mere rebranding. It is the same franchise, with the same owners, players, and personnel.[1][2][3] — AFC Vixen 🦊 11:50, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose, it appears that each incarnation of an NLL franchise usually gets its own article. See for example Syracuse Smash / Ottawa Rebel / Edmonton Rush / Saskatchewan Rush. 162 etc. (talk) 18:22, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, and those could easily be consolidated too. Is there an argument other than a WP:WHATABOUT as to why these numerous small articles about the same franchises can't be more concisely organised as single articles instead? — AFC Vixen 🦊 01:45, 4 May 2024 (UTC)

- Procedural close RM is not for merge requests, that goes in WP:Proposed mergers -- 65.92.247.66 (talk) 00:30, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- But this is a move proposal also. — AFC Vixen 🦊 01:40, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
For clarity
[edit]To editor AFC Vixen: a discussion may be opened to discuss a merger and garner consensus for that merger. When editors have discussed the merger and have agreed to it, the merger can be performed and only then, after the merged page has been turned into a redirect, can a move request be opened and discussed. Best to you! P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 09:44, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
