Early Playlists
[edit]You can find here [1] I will update if I have time. Thank you, MarioNovi (talk) 08:51, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
- The lists seem completely ridiculous to me. They are indeed a copy from the link that you give but why bother? How the heck is that encyclopaedic? What next? Someone turns up and lists every playlist from every show presented by a given DJ while working for radio station x, y or z? I'd remove the lot, replacing with an external link to the nynoise website that is, in any event, already archived. - Sitush (talk) 07:56, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
- I added the links because of trying to find sources for Punkcast. Then, I thought it is too single minded to simply add only the Punkcast list. Does it make sense? Thank you, MarioNovi (talk) 18:24, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
- I also did not know about the archive it can be a better idea. MarioNovi (talk) 18:25, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
- Unlike radio shows, detailed listings of tv show episodes is quite the norm. This show was a groundbreaker, NYC municipally funded, broadcast over the air, and giving the first tv exposure to many alternative acts. It later led to adoption of many of the same by MTV, who also hired the producer. The playlists give vital insight to its development over its brief existence, and, where linked via Wikipedia, allow a reader to learn more about some acts with whom they might be unfamiliar. Not enough to establish how many of those earlier videos were by Punkcast, as many more were than those so annotated. Someone's already put a lot of work in there. Knocking it out as part of the ongoing campaign against all Punkcast associated articles would be a wanton act. OTOH I applaud MN's original inclination to improve the article.
