Current status?
[edit]This link http://waterfrontalliance.org/waterwire/2010/12/17/edc-reveals-next-steps-waterfront-initiatives suggest that the car float operation has been suspended while repairs are made at Greenville Yard and will resume within 6 months after they are completed. I'd like to find some confirmation before putting this in the article.--agr (talk) 10:49, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

New York New Jersey Rail, LLC → New York New Jersey Rail – WP:NCCORP states that the legal suffix of a company should not be included in the title. However User:NE2 explicitly moved it to this title, with a rationale of ...since it doesn't end in "Railroad" or "Railway".
I'm not aware of any naming conventions that require rail operating companies to end in those words, but since this is a reversion of a previous move, I'm opening it for discussion. – Train2104 (t • c) 14:17, 3 June 2017 (UTC)
- Support per nom and WP:PRECISE. Current title is unnecessarily overprecise. Proposed title already redirects here. Station1 (talk) 05:20, 5 June 2017 (UTC)
- Support per nom and above reasons. --Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 20:20, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

LIRR
[edit]Hello Oknazevad -- I believe if you check the details, your edit to LIRR is wrong. LIRR is a passenger-only concern. It contracted its freight operations to New York and Atlantic Railway. While the LIRR may own the tracks, the common carrier is New York and Atlantic Railway. Rhadow (talk) 19:47, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
- My edit does not remove NYAR's name. I just thought it prudent to mention that the line is actually owned by the LIRR, as there is a possibility that the franchise that grants NYAR the freight concession on the LIRR could be ended in the future. Unlikely, as everyone seems happy with the NYAR arrangement, but it is possible. And it wasn't too long ago that the LIRR handled freight in house themselves with their own freight department. But at it's core the Bay Ridge Beanch remains an LIRR owned and dispatched line, and NYAR does not own it (or any trackage for that matter). oknazevad (talk) 21:40, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
