The third sentence of this article ends with "... began purchasing land from the Canarsee and Nyack tribes." However, to the best I can determine, there weren't ever a tribe of Native Americans in that area who went by the name "Nyack". That link just leads to a DAB page, which points to the village of Nyack, New York, among other things. The Wikipedia page for the village has a vague reference to the name being of Native American origin, but nothing specific. According to a few other webpages I found, it was indeed a Native American name, but a place name, not a name of a tribe. For example:
