Government language
[edit]This term is simply not used by ordinary people in any capacity, it is a government catch word to make immigration more appealing to immigrants and more acceptable to the Scottish people. As you can see the only refs for this are from Government websites.
I agree with above, I asked a politician at a SNP meeting his opinion on 100 white Scots migrating to central Africa and naming themselves (New Africans), he awkwardly replied that he felt that would be disrespectful to the African people and probably is racism having a unique ethnic background, culture and heritage separate to our own.
The term New Scots is an acceptable form of racism against the Scottish People. The Scots people have a unique heritage, identifiable DNA, Celtic culture and language, it is stated in Scotland that the Scots are a race. Now, I would not move to China and declare myself a New Asian or New Chinese man as I am White European, that to me is disrespectful.
It is obvious that some forms of Racism are acceptable and some are not, this proves Systemic Racism within Scotland's institution as Racism works both ways. The system in Scotland permits Racism where Government Language deems it acceptable. There is no such thing as New Scots, but new migrant nationals living in Scotland, its not acceptable that Scotland labels then (New Scots) if they are fully proud of lets say their Polish identity. 2A00:23C8:8580:1C00:1D41:1B47:5B20:F093 (talk) 21:34, 9 July 2020 (UTC)TT
New Scots - Offensive & Racist title.
[edit]The term "New Scots" is not widely accepted in Scotland and has been a basis for argument on many occasions as the Scots people are a designated ethnic group, retaining a cultural, heritage and so on.
This title has been questioned and debated within the SNP recently as it's insensitive and offensive.
The basis comes from the liberal left believes that the Scottish are not a race, and are European. That is an opinion, however, the Scots classify as a race, so any terminology that states the opposite is racism.
The example brought forward was China, a person would not be able to migrate into China and despair themselves the New Chinese or New Asian without offending the indigenous ethnic group.
With everything that is New, we have old and I think a section should be added here stating how potentially offensive and insulting it may be.2A00:23C8:8580:1C00:A519:1706:C44B:DCD2 (talk) 12:07, 21 August 2020 (UTC)SDLm
- This is wrong and pathetic to say. New Scots are as Scottish as anyone born here and they are the future of our country, so you should have some respect. 77.101.254.90 (talk) 08:50, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
