I also intend making big changes to make page less of an advert.

- The problem is that the tone and content is not always suitable for an encyclopaedia. For example, I have just removed an incongruous section on some celebrations that would be more suited to a School Newsletter than to Wikipedia. NZ forever (talk) 06:36, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
infobox and other edits
[edit]I added an infobox, as I am slowly doing to all NZ schools to give standard information about them. I also removed (as I have been doing to other NZ school pages) information of purely local interest (e.g. names of buildings), and also stuff clearly taken from the school's advertising (e.g. park-like surroundings). The infobox contains a link to the school's web site. Wikipedia is not an advertising site. If you have a copy of the school crest, and are the copyright holder, and are happy to for it to be used it would be used useful to add it. Also well-known former students. But please, avoid peacock terms. Neil Leslie 10:47, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
- At the moment it is tagged for sources but there doesn't seem to be much information on the page to source! NZ forever 03:44, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
I'm planning to remove the "bullying" section as this is now getting historical: a current ERO review which included interviewing students in the hostel has concluded bullying is not an issue. The negative potential of this section may outweigh, in all fairness, the value of reporting the alleged bullying. There are many issues around any secondary school and it seems unfair to focus on this when other positive events have been deleted. Comments welcome Johnmc2 (talk) 07:29, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
Houses
[edit]Whatever happened to Pridham, Carrington, Moyes, East, West and Central? (And Niger? –the 3rd form house in which boarders were already sorted into the houses they were later to go into.) I was taught by "Fish" Hatherly in the 3rd form in 1964. I was a day boy in East House. Do boarders still wear their collars up? And horror of horrors, do they now have mixed boarder/day boy houses? Bullying
[edit]Hi I am involved with our social media sites and work at the school and I wish to update the wiki. I would like to remove the negative comments about bullying as this is an outdated story and it is tainting our reputation and negating the positive culture we have worked hard to establish in our school. I have mistakenly received a final warning as I am new to editing this. On the last edit once I realised I had to I explained my intent as requested but the page has again been reset. How should I go about this edit? NJAHEALY (talk) 04:46, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
- Why don't you add a paragraph on how the school responded to the January 2009 report - what measures they put in place to prevent bullying? It needs to be referenced, but references to school publications would be acceptable.-gadfium 22:36, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
