Fair use rationale for Image:New Morning.jpg
[edit]Image:New Morning.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 16:59, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Requested move 23 January 2015
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: not moved as opposers raised the point that this is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Number 57 13:31, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
– per WP:Naming conventions (music). There is no longer an absolute majority topic for "New Morning" - although the 1970 Dylan album was once, the New Morning (Misia album) 2014 and New Morning (Alpha Rev album) 2010 have changed that. In ictu oculi (talk) 01:38, 23 January 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose - Strongly oppose. Page views make it very clear that the current primary topic is overwhelmingly favored by readers by an incredible margin. Even with recentism on the side of the newer albums the case is incredibly clear here.--Yaksar (let's chat) 17:28, 23 January 2015 (UTC)
- Support. This lesser album by one of the most important artists of the 20th-century is hardly primary topic, as defined by WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. My GSearch suggests that the Parisienne jazz club of the same name should be PT, if any. Viewing statistics are probably inherited from Bob Dylan and should be taken with a pinch of salt - again - as PT recommends. --Richhoncho (talk) 10:15, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
- Comment not to confuse with "Blue Morning" which is a song by Foreigner 76.120.164.90 (talk) 23:37, 26 January 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose. Looking through the dab page, none of those other entries are notable enough that this wouldn't be the primary topic. -- Calidum 00:41, 30 January 2015 (UTC)

Went to See the Gypsy
[edit]--TheScotch (talk) 17:50, 28 July 2020 (UTC)Re: “In the final lines of the song, Dylan makes mention of a ‘little Minnesota town,’ a rare reference to his own childhood in Hibbing”:
This is a singularly obtuse way of putting it. In the final line Bobby Zimmerman doesn’t merely “mention” the little Minnesota town (very likely, yes, an allusion to Hibbing); rather he specifically and particularly reveals that the entire incident that the entire lyric narrates is supposed to be taking place in this town. Is there some especial reason Elvis Presley would be “staying in a big hotel” in a little Minnesota town? I think not. What pop-culture figure with an exaggerated and cultish reputation would? Gee, that’s a toughie. No, I’ve always assumed that this song is about Bobby Zimmerman confronting his own “Bob Dylan” mythology. It’s certainly possible I’m wrong, but anyone who knows this song and hasn’t even considered the possibility has got to be remarkably dull-pated—-like, come to think of it, most professional rock critics and most amateur rock enthusiasts.TheScotch (talk) 17:50, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
Backing Vocals
[edit]Regarding "Man in Me": Currently listed as Backing Vocals (with the exception of Maeretha Stewart on "If Dogs Run Free") are:
- Hilda Harris
- Albertin Robinson
Recently released footage of this session clearly shows (at about 40 seconds in) four women with headphones around the microphone. I think we are short by two names. Was Maeretha Stewart one of them? Oldsmobuick (talk) 00:12, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
This almost all POV
[edit]I don't even know where to start with this article. Almost the whole thing is some guy's opinion of the album. I also think some of the stuff presented as fact is just inaccurate (such as the claim that people welcomed the album because of Bob's singing voice.) This needs a massive rewrite.
