I think the lead should be shortened. The current lead is too long for such a short article. Please, also get rid of the third one sentence paragraph.
I also want to know what "an intentional discontinuity" means?

Please, replace the first image. The current one is of a very poor quality.

Ref 9 is missing title and (possibly) author information.
Formatting of references should be consistent. If you are using templates for majority of them, use templates for all references. For instance, ref 9 can be formatted with cite news template. Please, also do not mix 'citation' with 'cite xxx'.
