Unlisted
[edit]This article has some apparently wrong info. It may be due to vandalism, but it should be resolved. For now, not listed as GA. Gimmetrow 19:56, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
The following paragraph in the "Plymouth Council" section stuck out:
- Banished from Massachusetts for heresy, Roger Williams led a group south, and founded Providence, Rhode Island in 1698. On October, 9 of the same year, the Connecticut Colony was granted a charter, and established its own government. At this time, Vermont was yet unsettled, and the territories of New Hampshire and Maine were governed by Massachusetts.!
This seemed odd since Roger Williams was dead by 1698. The previous paragraph listed an event to 1598 but the citation said 1620. I've fixed these, but it makes one wonder about other statements already marked "citation needed". The literature section has this sentence:
- Pulitzer Prize winning novelist and short story writer Steven Millhauser, who was born in New York City and short story Eisenheim the Illusionist was adapted into the 2006 film was raised in Connecticut.
Something is missing here, and most readers would probably not expect 2006 film or 2007 to link to a title. This article has plenty of content, but it's got a few things to take care of before GA. An article this long should probably have three larger paragraphs for the lead, too. (See articles on individual US states like North Carolina, Texas and Virginia.) appeal
[edit]Umm... can we appeal the delisting? Some vandalism comes and suddently the entire article is deemed inferior quality?--Loodog (talk) 01:59, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
