Notability
[edit]This appears to be a relatively young field, but it seems to be real. Possible sources include: PMID 18689055, PMID 17972211, ISBN 9780195177619, plus Neuroergonomics: research and practice, Neuroergonomics: opportunities and challenges of merging cognitive neuroscience with cognitive ergonomics, and more. Deleted history falsely attributing coinage of word.
[edit]Deleted Text:
References showing prior use of term: From Nov 30, 1999[1]. And from Nov 10, 2004.[2]
Either of those is sufficient to disprove. 99.135.175.107 (talk) 16:23, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit]The author above should note that the 1999 reference to neuroergonomics in turn references Dr. Parasuraman's website. "BRAIN IMAGING STUDIES OF HUMAN INTERACTIONWITH WELL- AND POORLY-MAPPED CONFIGURAL DISPLAYS". doi:10.1177/154193129904302307. {{cite journal}}

This reference points to Parasuraman, R. (1998). "Neuroergonomics:The Study of Brain and Behavior at Work".
In this paper the author writes:
In this research we turn to the emerging field of neuroergonomics (Parasuraman, 1990, 1998; Burne & Parasuraman, 1996) as a possible source of corroboration from the neurosciences for the claims about cognitive processes involved in using displays.
While it appears that the original page was not indexed, the earliest reference to this topic is located in the Catholic University of America's cognitive science lab newsletter. Located here "CSL Notes". February 1998.. Although located at a different URL, this article appears to contain the content of the original page and I have no reason to doubt the content was substantially changed from the original article.
