[edit]Hello, I'm new to Wikipedia so I may be mistaken but it seems to me that this meets the notability guidelines. Certainly many other medical foundations can be found here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Medical_and_health_foundations
These organizations seem to me to be very similar.
A very important consideration is that often the people seeking information about these foundations are looking for information about treatment options; in this case ready availability of information can make the difference between life and death. With respect to carcinoid cancer, and neuroendocrine cancer generally, there is a dearth of reliable information, so it seems like a good idea to make it available.
I don't suffer from this disease, but I know someone who does, and she speaks highly of the services that this nonprofit makes available.
Hope this helps,

- I removed the CSD tag. Though notability may not have been established, the article does pass A7. Reliable reference was located and added. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 11:44, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
- First off, welcome to Wikipedia, User:Tillander! As far as the CSD tag, it was actually mistakenly removed. While the activities of the organization are admirable, notability for organizations is established through significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. While Jeff added a reference indicating that it was a third party source, it was actually a press release, which is a primary source and cannot be used to establish notability. The same applies to the references to the organization's website, as well as the www.centredaily.com website, which is another press release. The American Association for Cancer Research would be considered reliable. As far as the external links, there are a couple that need to be removed, per the guidelines at WP:ELNO. Social networking sites are inappropriate links. The other two external links are redundant, since a link is provided to the organization's website as a reference. So, at this point, the article is only supported through one reliable source. This does not equate to "significant coverage," and honestly, the article could be headed for deletion. What I recommend at this point, is a concerted effort to locate reliable sources to support the article. This would be the priority. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any more questions. Regards, Cindamuse (talk) 12:49, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
