What does 'all the peripherals are virtualized' mean
[edit]'All the peripherals are virtualized' is a perhaps bit obscure for a non-embedded kind of mainstream reader - even those with an interest in this subject. If someone could give an explanation, or maybe link to an explanation, that would help this article.
Agent "Smart" Watch
[edit]There is at least one editor who kept on removing the section Agent "Smart" Watch. This was clearly done by someone with an agenda. Agent "Smart" Watch is a Netduino project (the topic is locked but it can still be found on the Netduino forums). [1]
Don't remove, because this is still netduino. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.66.163.165 (talk) 06:44, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
- It may use Netduino, but that fact is only tangentially mentioned in the sources provided in the article. Furthermore, the contested section offers no useful information to the reader about Netduino itself, and only serves to draw attention to yet another Kickstarter project that failed to deliver—one that was only tangentially related to the Netduino project itself. Let me make an example for you so you can understand why this shouldn't be here. Lets say there was a big controversy involving a tennis player, and that said tennis player wore a certain brand of tennis shoes (a fact unrelated to the controversy). Imagine if someone repeatedly kept adding a section on that controversy to the page for those shoes. It just wouldn't make sense. Likewise, the repeated adding of the info on the Agent controversy to the Netduino page doesn't make sense either. Bensci54 (talk) 17:53, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
Agent is a Netduino product made by Secret Labs, like Jordan Fusion is an Air Jordan product made by Nike, Inc.. So people can talk about the Agent and its controversies in the Netduino wikipage, like people can talk about Jordan Fusions in the Air Jordan wikipage. To use your argument, people shouldn't discuss this on the .NET Micro Framework and the Smartwatch wikipages, because they would truly only be "tangentially related."
Let's talk more about shoes. In the Air Jordan wikipage, there is a section called Controversy listing a number of controversies. Many of those controversies were listed in the main Nike, Inc. wikipage, as one might expect. There's also another wikipage called Nike_sweatshops. And Nike is also used as an example in the wikipage of Sweatshop. These considered, the controversy of Agent could take place in the Netduino wikipage and also Kickstarter wikipage. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.162.173.59 (talk) 20:13, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
- My apologies. I'm not sure how I missed it, but I hadn't realized that Netduino was made by the same company as the AGENT watch. Alright, the section can definitely stay in this case. Bensci54 (talk)
Agent Watch was a Secret Labs, not Netduino project; Netduino is not, and never was a company, it was a brand. And now Netduino is owned by a completely different company, Wilderness Labs. See: www.wildernesslabs.co. Therefore, Agent Watch should go to the Secret Labs page, not this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.113.183.85 (talk) 21:54, 8 August 2017 (UTC)
