Proposal to split
This discussion is about the proposal to split the section on the United States to Net metering in the United States.
- Oppose I think better to just delete excess detail. Chidgk1 (talk) 14:29, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
- Support there seems to be enough encyclopedic material supported by reliable sources to create a new article. On the other hand, leaving all this material here gives too much undue weight to the United States. --Ita140188 (talk) 02:49, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose - undue level of textbook detail, of very low encyclopedia value. You might as well list all the highway traffic laws in each state. --Wtshymanski (talk) 05:58, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Wtshymanski: Do you suggest to remove most of the section? I think that even if we only keep the table, it should be moved to its own article. --Ita140188 (talk) 06:04, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- Take it out entirely; you don't need an encyclopedia to know that states enact their own laws. --Wtshymanski (talk) 21:39, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
- You can "source" the location of every bus stop along the #48 route - that doesn't make it viable content for an encyclopedia article. Minute local trivia is not what we're supposed to be here for, aside from Pokemon articles. --Wtshymanski (talk) 23:31, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
- Ok, I don't have a strong opinion either way. I just think this table should be removed from this article. I think we all agree on that. --Ita140188 (talk) 02:28, 26 April 2021 (UTC)

Utility Outage
My installer says that due to unknowns around utility power outages, the feeding of excess residential power back to the grid is disabled during such outages.Billymac00 (talk) 20:25, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
Most on-grid systems does require presence of mains power for operation and are required by law not to operate when there is an outage or electricity is supplied at parameters outside of allowed range. This is both to protect the grid from back feed during repairs and also a technical requirement for many inverters to be able to work as they can only synchronize to the existing mains frequency and voltage. Undisclosed paid edits
I have added an {{undisclosed paid}} tag to this article because of extensive editing by a UPE sockfarm, please see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Frost joyce for evidence. Users relevant to this page include: 1440wordpower (talk · contribs), Pashwarjindos (talk · contribs), Drigglealyn (talk · contribs) The article will need a thorough review ensuring due weight, neutral language, and use of reliable sources before the tag is removed. - Do any of those edits still exist in the current article? I checked a half-dozen and they are gone. We purged a lot of the fancruft. --Wtshymanski (talk) 05:46, 15 November 2021 (UTC)
- I didn't check exhaustively, but the whole Net metering § Post-net metering successor tariffs section seems to be written by Drigglealyn. MarioGom (talk) 13:14, 15 November 2021 (UTC)
- If there's nothing left by the suspected paid editor, then the tag must come off. Otherwise it will be here till the heat death of the universe. --Wtshymanski (talk) 00:22, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
