Rating next step

[edit]

To get to a B class rating you could add some history, pictures, famous alumni, staff, community activities, and it geography (such as address layout, environs). It is very hard for a school to make it to mid class - you would have to have a massacre, or major controversy to get it into the news and public awareness, usually the kind of things that you dont want to have. The 'rating' is related to the stub warnings. I have started a separate discussion thread on the issue of the "stubs", and the removal of this page from that categorisation. SMargan (talk) 04:17, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox

[edit]

The infobox on this article needs updating to meet school article quality standards. The appropriate box for this school is Template:Infobox Aust school, see Riverside Girls High School and Burwood Girls High School for good examples. Cheers. Loopla 11:11, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

@Loopla - The 'infobox' specifically for Australian schools, suggested in your comment, i.e. Template:Infobox Aust school, does not seem to exist anymore. Currently, there appears to be an Infobox generally for schools, i.e. Template:Infobox School, that is used for all school pages in Australia. Indeed, the example pages you have quoted as "good examples", i.e. Riverside Girls High School and Burwood Girls High School, seems to use that general 'infobox' now (Template:Infobox School). WikiProject class rating

[edit]

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 10:26, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just changed the grade of this article, to class "B" from it prior "stub" status. If anyone thinks that this reclassification is pre-emptive or in error, we should discuss it in this thread.SMargan (talk) 05:15, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I think putting the article up to B class is too optimistic, due to the Rater tool suggesting the article is C-Class by 32.5%, I did work on the article a bit by adding to the introduction and the schools opening date, but this only bumped the prediction up to 41%. I suggest downgrading the article to C-class.
To improve this article further, you could use the Acara Data to identify the student enrolments going back to 2008. With the School Profile 2008-2023 document to identify the historical totals, as well as the historical girls and boys enrolment figures, and the Enrolments by Grade 2008-2023 to identify the enrolments via grade historical figures.
Furthermore, Trove is helpful in finding historical events, through newspapers and official government documents.
Hope this helps. 2024 is Underway (talk) 10:37, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

'Stub' status

[edit]

This "Nerang State High School" Wikipedia page was completely revamped recently. These changes turned it from an unreferenced 'stub', into the basis for a legitimate Wikipedia page article. During these rafts of edits, the characterisation of this page as a 'stub' and the associated editor's warning were removed. Just now, with the addition of this discussion thread to this "Nerang State High School" talk page, the school 'stub' warning and the Australia 'stub' warning are also being removed from this 'talk' page. If anyone thinks that these edits were pre-emptive or in error, we should discuss it in this thread. SMargan (talk) 04:17, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
