Begin collaboration
[edit]I don't know if anyone keeps up with this article, but I'm going to start concentrating on it this month. I'm going to use the previously worked-on Helaman as a go-by. uriah923(talk) 02:49, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit]It's been a one person effort, but the Mormon Collaboration has once again turned a poor stub into a decent article. *pat self on back* --uriah923(talk) 15:17, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
Good Article nomination has failed
[edit]The Good article nomination for Nephi, son of Helaman has failed, for the following reason:
- This article is written from the LDS point of view and does not take into account views of non-Mormon scholarship, which does not view this figure as historical. See Book of Mormon, which shows how an NPOV on a subject like this can be achieved. In addition, scholarship other than the Book of Mormon is not cited, even from LDS sources, nor authorities within or without the Mormon Church.--CTSWyneken(talk) 02:29, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
source for future editing
[edit]I've been doing research for improving the Book of Helaman page. I found this article on Nephi's vision of Jesus in a book. I should note that this particular collection of essays is uneven, but Andrew Skinner has a PhD and his writing here is academic, so I think it is a reliable source for interpretation of Nephi's experience (attributed in-text). The publications in Book of Mormon studies from the 1990s are nascent, and still developing the field, so don't end your research here. Rachel Helps (BYU) (talk) 16:41, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
