I did not write this to promote a single entity, but it is hard to get information on the topic from pages outside of the companies that offer this service or information on this service.
- Two of the links take you to an identical-looking quotation form, one of the links is to a car-sales site, one is dead and, most tellingly, the last link is to an article entitled "Website Strategies that Sell More Used Cars". See WP:SPAM. Ros0709 (talk) 21:54, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
This is a hard topic to write about because all of the information is located on actual company websites. I tried to pull from a variety of sites in order to not look like an ad. I am writing this to share information about this because I never knew that car shipping existed before. the link entitled "Website Strategies that Sell More Used Cars" was not used for that purpose, it was used as a citation for the fact that more people are shopping for cars online, and the article is not selling anything, it is describing a way to sell more cars... Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cnydarie (talk • contribs) 22:07, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
- Perhaps, then, this is an indication of the (lack of) notability of the subject. We already have articles for Shipping and Transport - why do we need an article on a specific kind of freight transport? When you said you never knew car shipping existed, did you actually mean you never knew a private individual could arrange such a thing? Clearly car shipping exists, otherwise how would cars get from the factory? It seems to me this has made the article, especially the final section, a howto guide. I have rewritten the last sections so that it is no longer a how to ship a car but more of a what happens when a car is shipped. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cnydarie (talk • contribs) 20:13, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
This is an important subject and should be re-written a little. The problem is there is not much published information on the subject. It may require some subjective writing from an individual which is not the usual wikipedia wayJameywiki (talk) 03:59, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
The way the page reads now is almost as if Car Shipping did not exist before the internet which is not true at all. Even the name of the page could be improved as "Auto Transport" I suggest a complete re-write. Anyone disagree? Jameywiki (talk) 00:19, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- There was a similar article at "Auto Transport" that got re-directed here during this one's deletion discussion: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Car shipping. I don't think anyone had a strong preference about the name though. I'd prefer something like "Transportation of Cars" - as the other way round its ambiguous if you're moving car or it's moving you.. -Hunting dog (talk) 05:21, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
Weighable vs. Countable
[edit]In the table, neo-bulk is categorized as "weighable", even though the description in the same table talks about it being counted as it is loaded/unloaded. Surely this is a mistake, and it should be "countable"?? — tooki (talk) 18:54, 10 November 2019 (UTC)
