Improving this article
[edit]This is quite a complicated article, and it needs to be improved. I did some first steps for now. The next will be the quotation of external non-Byzantine sources which prove a reception of chromaticism (phthora nenano) in other traditions of the Mediterranean. Because the topic φθορά νενανῶ is highly specialized and sophisticated, I recommend a new entry for Phthora (Music) to treat the general history of the phthorai used as signs and "great signs" in Byzantine Chant.--Platonykiss (talk) 14:59, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
