Chelsea
Unless the club officially announce the player has signed we should not be adding any information regarding him signing for Chelsea. A player saying he has is irrelevant, anything can happen that could cause the deal not to be concluded and we are WP:Crystal balling until Chelsea themselves announce and then multiple reliable sources say so. We are an encyclopaedia not a rumour or fan site. This person's article is a Biographies of living persons and as such must be dealt with appropriately using reliable sources. Please desist until such time as the deal is concluded by the club and is no longer rumour.Blethering Scot 16:10, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
FIFA Puskás Award
BenficaNNossaPaixao (talk · contribs) added the fact Matić came runner-up in 2013 FIFA Puskás Award referenced via Fifa. Now the honour section isn't purely for people who come first, players often come runner-up or third place in tournaments/competitions for which they receive a medal or trophy and therefore it's included in the honours section where appropriate. In this case however Matić hasn't actually received any award for coming runner-up so I don't see the purpose for including, I think it would be inappropriate. ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 17:08, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- If you wish to give it a brief mention in the Benfica career section I wouldn't have an issue with that. ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 17:27, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- That's exactly the point. It isn't mentioned in career, it's mentioned in honours. BenficaNNossaPaixao (talk) 17:56, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- No, you must have misread I said a brief mention in career would be ok but to mention in honours wouldn't as it's not really an honour as I've outlined above. ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 18:22, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

He left the club before Benfica became champion. I think this league title shouldn't be credited to him. Same for Ola John and Bruno Cortez. What do you think? 85.247.249.199 (talk) 22:58, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
- I agree, same with finishing as a runner-up in the Europa League in 2014. I will remove them. Rupert1904 (talk) 18:02, 29 October 2014 (UTC)

Birthplace
He was not born in Šabac, but in Vrelo near Ub according to https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/strange-career-path-serial-reject-nemanja-matic. Regards, Dejvas (talk) 16:07, 5 August 2017 (UTC)
- Whenever anyone claims someone was born in a village, I have my doubts. Sure, it's not unheard of for someone to be born at home rather than in a hospital, especially in Eastern Europe in the late 1980s, but considering we have reliable sources that say he was born in Šabac, and given the relative size of Vrelo by comparison, isn't it more likely that he was born in Šabac and grew up in Vrelo? – PeeJay 16:14, 5 August 2017 (UTC)
