[edit]This page obviously needs a good image of the chequer, and although I have been able to find a few acceptable examples, I need some help figuring out how to get them on the page. JWAbrams (talk) 17:27, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
- Where are these examples? Benea (talk) 17:34, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
- I assume this shows the chequer? Black and yellow bands with black gunports? Benea (talk) 17:40, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

USS Constitution
[edit]Someone has smuggled the USS Constitution into this article, strictly speaking one gun deck is not a chequer, Is there a better black and white example we could use, the first black and white chequer would be good. Must be something earlier than USS Independence (1814). What was the the first black and white hull come to that? The article for the Constitution makes no claim for it. --BeckenhamBear (talk) 11:04, 17 February 2018 (UTC)
