New Book Needs to be Added
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
- Information to be added or removed:
[Title] You Are Awesome
Published in 2019 by Gallery Books, a division of Simon&Schuster. (1)
You Are Awesome is a #1 international bestseller, Publishers Weekly bestseller, Globe and Mail bestseller, and Toronto Star bestseller. (2)(3)(4)
In it Pasricha discusses topics of resilience (5), failure (6), cell phone addiction (7), and our inability to predict the future. (8)
The book received both positive and negative reviews. The Toronto Star said it was "inspiring advice on developing resilience and putting a positive spin on life's setbacks and heartbreaks" (9) while Publisher's Weekly wrote it was "a slick but ultimately underwhelming production with little to appeal to the thoughtful reader”. (10)
- Explanation of issue:
I used to work with Neil Pasricha and recently realized his most recent book is missing from his Wikipedia page. I don’t think I can make the edit as it may be a conflict of interest, so I figured requesting the edit would be best.

"Advert" tag
[edit]I added the {{advert}} tag just now, and I want to explain why (see my edit summary for more). The overall tone of the article seems quite promotional, with a few peacock terms employed (eg: Pasricha's popular blog
(emphasis added) in the lead). The lead also says he's a recipient for the 2018 Canada's 40 under 40 award
, cited only to "canadastop40under40.com" - what is this award? Is it significant? There's a lot of subsections listing books he's written, some of them are unsourced, and all seem to be promotional (in tone) of the books - eg: in Neil Pasricha#The Book of (Holiday) Awesome, it says this book is a national bestseller. It is a smaller gift book featuring awesome things about holidays such as Christmas, Hannukah, Diwali, Halloween, Mother's Day, etc.
with no sources.
I feel like this article needs some fairly major work, but I'm not sure how to do it for this article. It would probably need a bit of a trim to remove some of the (overly-)detailed book listings, and maybe some more citations? Seagull123 Φ 18:47, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
