Graham: a neighborhood?
[edit]Taking the MAX along I-84, there is a white railroad sign that states "GRAHAM". And on Google Maps and Microsoft Virtual Earth, viewing Portland from a high elevation, "Graham" is one of the areas labeled. Zooming in, it is centered around 63rd and Halsey. What is the status of this place name? Is it a neighborhood? Likewise, there is another place name "Quarry" that doesn't make the Portland neighborhood list. Kenton Women's Village
[edit]I've added a reference to the Kenton Women's Village to the Kenton neighbourhood link. The Village represents a major change in the way Portland approaches houselessness. I will create the KWV page. Qrs136 (talk) 18:26, 9 March 2018 (UTC)qrs136
- I removed it. It rhymes with Multnomah Village, but that is not a single organization so it's not an undue representation of any particular group. Graywalls (talk) 02:55, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
NoPo nickname
[edit]The word "NoPo", which refers to the North Portland district of Portland, isn't a pun; it's a nickname based on a shortening of the phrase "North Portland". It uses the same naming convention as SoHo and SoMa, whilst puns are a lovely and underappreciated form of groan-inducing humour.
It's also not a classist designation. Or if it is, the modifier "classist" in the nickname's description would need citation.
I'm going to be bold and remove both descriptors. Qrs136 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 18:55, 1 April 2018 (UTC)

Overhaul
[edit]As evidenced by the 5 attribution templates at the top of this page, I've forked out the content for each of Portland's sections so this page now focuses more on neighborhoods. I've kept the overall framework for neighborhoods the same for now, but made some minor improvements and formatting changes. Each of the articles about Portland's sections need improvement, but at least now Wikipedia isn't suggesting each section is a neighborhood. ---Another Believer (Talk) 00:20, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
