History of research on neglect, findings and more
[edit]In "The APSAC Handbook on CHILD MALTREATMENT - SECOND EDITION" Copyright © 2002 by Sage Publications, Inc., there is mention of the history of research regarding neglect, the consequences of neglect and the neglect of neglect as a topic. I propose to include some of this, or information from a more updated edition, in the article. APSAC stands for American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children. Notes
[edit]Improvement.
[edit]This article can be improved By adding more information on the topic. It could use a little more information pertaining to people. Like for example what happens when people are neglected instead of an oven. You could give reasons for neglect and how people react to being neglected. And when you gave the clip of what the sign language of neglect is you could have given information on how deaf people are neglected. Give a reason for why you put the clip on this page. --Btblick (talk) 23:25, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
I reviewed Smanion0623's contribution and while everything was acceptable with her post, for some reason her edit was tagged as her IP adress and not her user page. --AJones314 (talk) 20:38, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
This article is bizarre and half-assed. It reads like a poorly thought-out report written by a middle-schooler the night before it was due. Damienivan (talk) 06:10, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
The topic "Neglect" is very broad. There are many different types of Neglect.I chose this website, because it has great information about Neglect and tells more about the ways of Neglect and the ways of abuse. I read on this site about those two types are different in many ways. Physical Abuse is very different from Neglect and that is cleary stated on this website. Abuse is hitting, beating, shaking, throwing...etc. And Neglect is like not providing the child a home(shelter), not the right food, or not food at all... Although this Topic is just about Neglect, abuse sometimes plays a role in Neglect. Child Welfare Information Gateway. "What Is Child Abuse and Neglect?" Child Welfare Information Gateway. 2008.
