Ned Doheny
[edit]Ned Doheny is a sufficiently noteworthy musician for inclusion here because:
- He has composed a number of popular songs performed by various artists including Chakha Khan
- He has appeared on a number of noted albums by noted performers (including JD Souther)
- His music is widely regarded as innovative
- His music is particularly popular in Japan
- Agreed; there's a fair amount more information that can be added here - just tracking info on the Chaka Khan song and whether it charted. Definitely not speedy bait, tho. Tony Fox (arf!) 22:42, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- That single is listed as being on the Billboard Hot 100 (and there's definitely an N. Doheny listed as one of the writers on her discography there) so I think that'll help with the notability. With albums out with Asylum and CBS, he meets WP:MUSIC - just needs some sources now. Tony Fox (arf!) 22:53, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Doheny co-wrote "A Love of Your Own" with Hamish Stuart of the Average White Band.
His single "To Prove my Love" was successful in Japan. He is also notable as one of the first group of artists signed to the new (and very influential) Asylum label - others were Jackson Browne and Eagles.
Artists who have appeared on his albums include Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Graham Nash, Tom Scott, David Foster, Linda Ronstadt, JD Souther, Victor Feldman and Rosemary Butler. --Vvmodel (talk) 20:46, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- But he is not the Ned Doheny who lived at the Greystone Mansion MMetro (talk) 20:33, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
- For the record, this Ned is grandson of the other Ned. -- Beardo (talk) 02:15, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
