[edit]Frenchfrylvr (talk) 02:39, 1 March 2024 (UTC) I created a article for Necrodes littoralis. The article provides a good description of the behaviors of the beetles and is supported by scientific references.

Feedback from New Page Review process
[edit]I left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: Thanks for writing this article! There is a lot of good information here, but some of it needs to be re-written in a more encyclopedic tone, specially in a way that doesn't make it sound like an essay. Let me know if you have any questions! (please mention me on reply; thanks!)

- I am also leaving feedback for the creator/future reviewers. I'm a student apart of the Behavioral Ecology 2024 Wiki Education assignment and here is some feedback that I have: I made some minor changes to grammar and split up some sections to make it easier to read and some headings! Overall thorough and great article! I agree with the last comment by @TechnoSquirrel69, at times the studies that are used are used almost like an essay, and perhaps rephrasing/key findings (methods aren’t completely necessary) could help match the more neutral tone that Wikipedia looks for. Peer Review
[edit]Hello, I am leaving a peer review on this article. Overall, I think this article does a really great job of explaining some of the important aspects of this beetle. The article does a nice job of explaining some studies done to investigate the behavior of the beetle. In terms of edits, I made a few minor grammatical changes in some sections where there were slight discrepancies in the usage of present and past tense when referring to experimental studies. I also added a couple of additional citations in sections where there were mentions of studies that were not cited immediately. In the Competition section, I changed some of the wording to be more explicit that the information in the section was about a particular study. The article previously made references to "authors" of the study, but did not start out saying that the information was pulled from any particular study. Thus, I rephrased some sentences to mention that the information was from a specific study done in Poland and made sure further references to that study were more explicit. In the second paragraph of the Competition section, it is mentioned that there was a previous studying pig carcasses, but no citation is added to reference this study. I believe it may be helpful to add this. In the Relevance to forensic entomology section, I added two paragraphs adding more detail about the cadaver preferences of the species, such as seasonality and decomposition state. As I am reviewing this article, I see that the page flows really well. It was easy to read, but I definitely think that more information can be added to this page. After reading about the carcass from Italy in the Habitat section, it seemed that there was an explanation for why these beetles were discovered on carcasses that was not discussed. Therefore, I added a section about the specie’s interactions with humans and livestock in order to explain the why this behavior occurs. I added a new reference to this article to dig deeper into this unique and interesting behavior which clarified information that was already in the Habitat section for the reader. I also created a new section about the aggregation behavior of this species called Social Behavior. These behaviors were only discussed briefly in the Life Cycle section, but I think that they deserved more attention so I added new information about the benefits of aggregation for this species. I also added links to define terms like pupal chamber and aggregation behavior that may be more ambiguous to the reader so that they can better understand the content of the page. Finally, very minor edits to the headings based on the beetle topic order page. The page went into great detail on very specific topics so it could benefit from expanding more on the behaviors exhibited by this beetle. Overall, this page was written and organized well, and the additional information I incorporated helped better explain these behaviors to the reader. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anushkav18 (talk • contribs) 23:57, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
- FYI - "species" is both singular and plural. The form "specie's" is incorrect; the correct possessive is "species' ". And now my dyslexia has kicked in and they all look wrong. XD - UtherSRG (talk) 10:59, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
