How many people is Starkweather to have killed? Here it says eleven over eight days but in the actual article on him it says eleven over two months. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.168.254.172 (talk) 13:10, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The song's lyrics does not mention the Starkweather case, it just seems to suggest it. Unless Springsteen himself confirmed the connection, I can't see the relation here. Please verify the story with some sort of interview with Springsteen. Otherwise, this article is completely speculative. --Soren84 (talk) 13:40, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Someone had written this on the article:

The song does not portray Starkweather as expecting to die by hanging. It reads: 'Sherrif when the man pulls that switch sir/ and snaps my poor head back/ you make sure my pretty baby/ sittin' right here on my lap.' Pulling a switch is more obviously a refernce to the electric chair, his head being snapped back is what will happen when the shock runs into him and, the clarity, how could she sit on his lap if he expected to be hanged?

Obviously this belongs on the talk page instead; but I agree with the poster, so I changed the article. Stlom 12:56, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Song title

[edit]

Wasn't the title of the song originally "Starkweather"? If so, this should be added into the article. Thanks. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 07:47, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
