"Homage" is too long
[edit]I recently made some edits to this article, and I noticed that the "homage" section is way too long, as it seems to list anything and anyone who had something to do with "Nebraska". Can someone shorten it down to the most essential songs? I can do it, but perhaps I should leave it to someone who knows better? --Soren84 (talk) 07:31, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
Highway patrolman
[edit]Article says
" Criminal behavior continues as a theme in the song "Highway Patrolman": even though the protagonist works for the law, he lets his brother escape after he has shot someone (this became the basis for the Sean Penn-directed film The Indian Runner)."
thats false -- state trooper stopped at the line because that was where his jurisdiction ended - his brother drove to the line to get out of the state - the state he was in couldn't follow him over that line
it's only a story someone putting political motives onto it -- saying the highway patrolman is a criminal he isn't the whole essence of the song is that the highway patrolman is a law abiding man but he has a bad brother - he supports him as far as he can
to say that he is a criminal is wrong and somewhat politically motivated the song says the highway patrolman has to stop at the state line just as in dukes of hazzard he can't follow him over it into another state (different jurisdiction) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.43.159.228 (talk) 18:03, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

Producer listing
[edit]Hey, so, in the article's infobox, it says "None" in the producer bracket. Anyone care to explain to me why this is when it said that Bruce Springsteen was the album's producer in the past? Is it even possible for an album or a song to be made WITHOUT any production??? I am so confused. Ded Meem (talk) 04:53, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
- I'm currently revamping the article in my sandbox and I discovered that the credit in the past was wrong. As I stated in my edit to the mainspace, it will be clarified when I finish my expansion. Basically, Nebraska doesn't have an actual producer due to the special means by how it was recorded. This is what will be stated in a note next to "None" in the infobox:
- Nebraska's LP sleeve does not list an official producer, instead listing Mike Batlan as the recording engineer.[1] Speaking to Warren Zanes, Jon Landau explained that due to the album's "special way of coming into being", giving Springsteen a producer credit "didn't feel right to Bruce". "There's certainly nobody else you could give that title to. But even Bruce didn't take it for himself. So there's no producer."[2]
- – zmbro (talk) (cont) 19:27, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
- I'll change it to list Mike Batlan as the engineer in the meantime. – zmbro (talk) (cont) 19:34, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
