I kinda think
[edit]I kinda think that things like Near v Minnesota should redirect to the page, and currently they do not. I would try to do that, but I'm afraid I don't know how. Ranger 1 23:00, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
No, no, no you fool. People like information on specific cases like this. Putting all the cases into one article would be like putting all the albums of a band into the band's article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Soundgarden (talk • contribs) 22:52, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Incorporation
[edit]This sentence is wrong: "Note that the paragraph above cites the Fourteenth Amendment and not the First Amendment. This is because the Fourteenth Amendment incorporates the First and makes it applicable to the States. As literally written, the First Amendment applies to Congress and the federal government, not the states." Near was decided before the incorporation doctrine existed. The Court cited the Fourteenth and not the First Amendment because deprivations of freedom of speech or press were considered a deprivation of liberty without due process, not because they violated the First Amendment. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.143.5.191 (talk) 20:28, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
