Need more secondary/tertiary sources or patents, etc. and examples/explanation on what NANs are and why they work
[edit]This article's citations come mostly from IEEE journals. If anyone could provide more citations and examples of NANs (possibly products, patents, or devices that provide NAN functionality?), that would help improve the quality of this article. Just for reference, I have done similar for my edits to the cassette tape adaptor article. I mostly worked on copyediting and noticed that problem, so I'm providing further details on what is needed/what can be added. Micro32 (talk) 17:46, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
NAN = Neighborhood area network
[edit]While the few sources talking about this "Near-me area network" (whatever it is) do in fact abbreviate it as NAN, in the industry a NAN is a "Neighborhood area network" (for which, however, we don't have an article at present). I suggest to just mention the abbreviation NAN here, but not further use it in the article prose. Otherwise readers might draw the invalid assumption that NAN would be an established abbreviation for Near-me area networks rather than Neighborhood area networks. --Matthiaspaul (talk) 22:47, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
- I concur, and have tried to reword the (poor) article a bit, but at this stage an acronym is really not needed. kbrose (talk) 17:41, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
