Starting Issues
[edit]I have an 03 Ford and have the 6.0 diesel motor. I recently began having starting problems. I have new batteries, clean posts and cables. Sometimes the ignition when turned does not do anything for the count of ten then turns over. The dead spot sometimes is much longer and is scary when cold and far from home. I hope someone else has had and corrected this issue so I may learn how. Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.113.152.232 (talk) 20:40, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Navistar VT and Ford's Power Stroke version are not the same engine
[edit]These two engines may share a long block (non functional sub-assembly) but that is were the similarity ends. Ford provides their own engine controls, computers, software, injectors, turbo's, oil cooler, and all other accessories that make the engine function. The warranty claim rate is high on the Ford version because of all the failures in the systems, components, and software that Ford provides. Ford warranty claims on the engine dropped significantly after years of solving problems they introduced. The Ford head bolt problem is related to running the horsepower/cylinder pressures higher then Ford should have (IE: Ford's engine controls and software). My point is that if one has a comments about the Ford Power Stroke engine it belongs in the Power Stroke page, just as the Navistar VT page should only have VT info. Written like an advertising brochure
[edit]The main article is written like an advertising brochure IMHO, references are lacking, jargon is amok, and what is "updated with CGI material" supposed to mean? Terrific In Movies (talk) 00:26, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
Defintions for CGI
[edit]Technology
- Computer-generated imagery, computer graphic effects in films, television programs, and other visual media
CGI animation
- Computer Graphics Interface, the low-level interface between the Graphical Kernel System (GKS) and the hardware.
- Common Gateway Interface, a standard for dynamic generation of web pages by a web server CGI.pm, a Perl module for implementing Common Gateway Interface programs
- Compacted graphite iron, a type of cast iron
- Corrugated galvanised iron, a type of molded sheet-metal
- Cell Global Identity, unique identifier of a cell site in cellular networks
My guess would be Compacted Graphite Iron, but who is to know for sure. Terrific In Movies (talk) 00:33, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
