Is his name not just the Russian or Ukrainian equivalent of Nahum Cohen? Google translate pronounces "Наум Коэн" that way.
What exactly is the name of the entity Mr Cohen is he CEO of? article should clarify that a bit.Hydromania (talk) 05:46, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The page was previously RFD'd, Koen was in the news a lot recently related to his bid to buy Israir and brokering the deal to sell 50% of Beitar Jerusalem FC to UAE Sheikh. Also investigation by Israeli media has uncovered that he changed his name from Nachshonov. I have rewritten the article text and updated the references. Shemtovca (talk) 18:38, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
In my view there are two issues with the sentance that states "This is not to be confused with the official Jewish community in the UAE, the Jewish Community of the Emirates.", being added at the end of the lead section on this page.
The wording official is not NPOV, as for example recently visiting chief rabbi of Israel only recognized and met with Rabbi and leadership of the Jewish Community Center of UAE.
Even if it is considered NPOV, will this sentance be added every time Jewish Community Center of UAE is mentioned on wikipedia?
a wiki page should be about a subject named on the page, the lead section further summarizes the page. After changes done by Wally0529, out of 3 pages about the subject 1 is about Jewish Community of the Emirates that has nothing todo with the subject, which gives it undue weight even if you disagree on the first two points. Shemtovca (talk) 05:45, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I think nonsense is responding to detailed discussion with the word nonsense without answering a single point raised above. I don't need anything, but i explained my logic above, while your reply only calls my points nonsense. And no, the sentance is not correct, relevant & useful, who gets to decide who is the Official and who is not Official Jewish Community? The TOI article clearly states "Jewish Council of the Emirates (JCE), one of two Orthodox congregations in the country". Shemtovca (talk) 19:27, 5 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Both sources make clear that JCE is the organization recognized by Jewish groups and by the UAE. With 2 organizations of such similar names you need to make clear which is which. Do please be careful with all your reverts lately. Just pushing down the material you don't like, is an old trick that I don't like. You should self-revert and see if you can get a consensus to change to your version. Right now it looks like it is just you who prefers that version. Smallbones(smalltalk)02:26, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Smallbones: Please consider the following points:
I have put it there as a temporary compromise until a consensus can be reached here.
Nobody still addressed the 3 points i raised above.
You reply sounds like WP:THREATEN over the changes i made.
please look over the article history, i am not the one who added information without reaching a consensus.
So if you want to be consistent let's go back to the previous version and then arrive at a consensus?
And BTW: If you looked over my change you don't even have the correct name of the other organization as TOI article being cited calls them by a different name, so much for being a correct & documented sentence. Shemtovca (talk) 03:23, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
NY Koen Group is a very personal investment company and can go under Naum Koen. At the NY Koen Group entry has no added value for Wikipedia.
PLEASE NOTE (and apologies upfront to have to say this based on past discussions): this is *NOT* an AfD discussion so arguments about notability are totally irrelevant! The purpose of this discussion is content optimization. If you can explain the added value of both articles living side by side, that would make a fine argument! gidonb (talk) 19:38, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose on the grounds that the two topics are sufficiently distinct that readers are best served by discussing them separately. Klbrain (talk) 09:37, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
