Weasel words

[edit]

I deleted the following:

"It obviously did not fit in with the album's boy band pop being much better written and having a more mature vibe. It was a big fan favorite according to most."

Rumors were rife with why the band was splitting but most believe it was very much Lou Pearlman's fault.

These are the most obvious weasel words, "most believe", "according to most". Please see WP:AWW. Please provide verifiable sources. Travb (talk) 03:26, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I deleted the following:

* [http://myspace.com/wellwornzeromusic Myspace page of ''Well Worn Zero''] (The 2nd defunct incarnation of Natural site) * [http://www.myspace.com/joshuamichaelhorn Unofficial Michael 'J' Horn Myspace Fan Site]

These sites are no name blogs. I know this violates policy, but I don't remember which one. Travb (talk) 00:10, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean 'no name blogs?' Both are sites for the guys mentioned in the article. Until you can cite a policy saying you cant link to a site about the people in an article please dont delete them... The Ginger One

The site you're looking for is WP:RS#Using_online_and_self-published_sources. It's against Wikipedia policy as myspace pages are not a reliable source. While it may be close to the band and hence be reasonably accurate, the problem is that it might be TOO close to the band and hence not be independent. Usual reliable sources are newspapers, academic journal articles and the rest (and if you think journal articles wouldn't exist on a boyband, some sociological researchers actually do study this stuff as a cultural phenomenon). Fair use rationale for Image:Justonelastdance.jpg

[edit]

Image:Justonelastdance.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Neutrality

[edit]

This article should be cleaned up. Its certainly not neutral, especially in the section about the band splitting. There are more occurences.

Furthermore, this article should cite some sources. For example, the manager, cite some sources if he really had such rules as pointed out, or if they really had to lip sync on every show etc. MihaS (talk) 13:01, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV

[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 12:42, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
