Unsourced name "Right-wing"
[edit]@James1221911: Your addition of this term is completely unsourced. Since you're the one trying to add it, you need to cite it, which you have steadfastly refused to do. None of the sources on this page say the faction goes by the name "Right-wing". The only time this term is even used is to describe the factions' relative political positions, so maybe you're confusing that with an actual name for the faction. Your conduct in this matter is also quite concerning, particularly since you copy-pasted my edit summary. I once again ask you to source this term. 5225C (talk • contributions) 11:34, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

- That's not a response. Are you going to source it or not? 5225C (talk • contributions) 01:01, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
- @James1221911: Instead of giving a source you just gave a kaomoji so I'm going to assume you can't or won't provide one. Which would make sense, because "Right-wing" is not an alternative name for this faction, it's a relative term that describes the general political alignment of people and parties compared to each other. Since you've been unable to/won't provide a source for this, I'm going to remove it again. 5225C (talk • contributions) 01:07, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
About the membership section
[edit]@5225C the reason that no sources are saying this is because it rarely gets called the National Right, normally it's just called the Conservative faction or the Right faction (in WA it has also been dubbed "The Clan"). However, the Moderates (probably the most well-known faction as it dominates in the state politics of NSW, Victoria and Tasmania) have plenty of sources because they're always called Moderates (as is the Wikipedia article about that faction). Same goes for the less-well-known Centre-Right faction (or the "Morrison Club"). Any thoughts? Thiscouldbeauser (talk) 06:20, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
- This seems to be a textbook case of original research. If there are no sources stating a list of members, then Wikipedia can't have a list of members. Also, the Clan is a separate thing which should not be conflated (which now has its own article by the way at The Clan (Liberal Party of Australia)). Steelkamp (talk) 07:10, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
- A source stating that this "faction" still exists rather than being a temporary alignment during the Morrison era would also be handy. ITBF (talk) 07:18, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
- The Moderates definitely still exist. Not sure about the Centre Right (although the faction's founder and leader, Alex Hawke, is still in Parliament as the member for Mitchell, as is the faction's figurehead, Scomo, who, (while no longer PM) is still the member for Cook). - I have found sources from as early as 2011 that discuss the National Right (https://archive.md/jsF2H). It isn't temporary, it's just not always clear who belongs to what faction. 5225C (talk • contributions) 08:33, 1 May 2023 (UTC)

- If nobody uses the name National Right then the article probably shouldn't exist. You're simply assuming all the groups are the same. There are however many sources that indicate these groups are distinct. For example, there is nothing that would suggest The Clan is the same as the National Right, even if they do share similarities and have some member overlap. 5225C (talk • contributions) 08:33, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
Virtually none of the references in this article contain the term "National Right"
[edit]Despite this article purporting to concern the "National Right" faction of the Liberal party, virtually none of the references for the article contain the words "National Right", other than the first reference, an article by journalist James Massola. If you go to look at the individual wikipedia pages of people who are listed in this article, they all make reference to "National Right" again, and point back to the same single article by Massola. You need to insert many more references containing the exact term "National Right" for your wikipedia article which you have titled "National Right".61.68.93.15 (talk) 20:43, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
