[edit]

I suggest to replace the photo on the page with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Tugu_Negara.jpg —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fongky (talkcontribs) 02:11, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

2nd Monument enact for political purpose

[edit]

It is understood that Peninsular Malaya doesn't involve in WWI, hence the replacement of monument. But WWII are happen in Malayan, as well as in Boneo Sabah and Sarawak. It FAIL to explain the purpose of the monument as reminder of war casualty and peace. During WWII Japan occupation , concentration camp is located in both now East and West Malaysia. Not to forget the emergency state are product of cold war that extend to Malaya. It FAILED to describe the roles of cold war during the Malayan Emergency .

IMHO, it is enacted for political purpose, thus ignore people dies in WWII, purposely highlighting the "winning" state of Malayan emergency.

Name of Tugu Negara

[edit]

The name of this page should change to Tugu Negara not National Manument of Malaysia. It is just same as Arc de Triomphe (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arc_de_Triomphe) in France where the name is simply in French. We just can't change the name of it to Triumphal Arch of the Star but it put as lit.
