[edit]

Just like the numerous health groups already posted on Wikipedia, the National Health Council is a non-profit group dedicated to improving the delivery of health care in the U.S. The NHC is one of the oldest patient advocacy organizations in the country. It is also a member of the International Alliance of Patients' Organizations, and the NHC's president is current chair of IAPO [1]. NHC has been a voice in the Obama Transition process, helping to coordinate patient advocacy organization statements on health issues. Its work on the passage of stem cell research legislation and the GINA law (genetic testing privacy act), among other bills, has been covered by the mainstream press.
