This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.
I am currently working at the National Consumer Law Center as a summer legal intern, and have been paid to write a higher-quality article on the NCLC. I’m requesting that this proposed article be copy-pasted over the current article. As a quick note, the “Watchdogs and Whistleblowers: A Reference Guide to Consumer Activism” book entry on the National Consumer Law Center was written by the then Executive Editor, but then reviewed at length and edited by the editors (and quite possibly some additional third parties). Kindly activate the |quote= parameter in all citation templates where subscriptions are required, and include the verbatim text from each source which verifies the appurtenant claims.
When ready to proceed with the requested information, kindly change the {{request edit}} template's answer parameter to read from |ans=yes to |ans=no. Thank you!
Thank you. By the way, another representative of NCLC will be completing the review and making any and all needed changes. Today is unfortunately my last day working for NCLC and I'm going to have very little internet access for the next week or so. I'm sorry if this creates any inconvenience for you. Hi, Spintendo. My name is Steve; I'll be (trying to) pick up where Spirit of Eagle has left off, though my Wikipedia knowledge and expertise pales in comparison to his. For the record, I am a staff member at the National Consumer Law Center, the subject of this article.shurley (talk) 19:51, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you both to Spirit and shurley for their messages. Spirit stated in their message that another representative of NCLC will be completing the review and making any and all needed changes. Just to clarify, it is the COI edit request reviewer who completes the review and implements the changes to the article, not the COI editor. Spirit likely meant to say that it was shurley who will be completing the draft and making any and all requested changes to the request; but to be clear, I just wanted to reiterate that point so there was no question about it later on. To Steve (shurley): please be sure to make the necessary disclosures on your main page at your earliest convenience. I will fill out the disclosure here on the talk page for you. Thanks again to you both. Regards, Spintendo01:39, 4 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Feedback has been provided on the draft. When ready to proceed with the requested changes, please open a new {{request edit}} template at the bottom of this page. Regards, Spintendo03:37, 5 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot for the feedback. Shurley will be completing the review, but I wanted to make a few quick comments. First, there are only two bare-bone citations which will be removed entirely by the proposed edits. It will take hours to rewrite the proposed citations to match citations that will no longer exist; given these unusual circumstances, Id like to request that the citation style rule be waived per WP:IAR. Second, I think the first paragraph in the publication section is appropriate. The language is straightforward and lists subject matter only to the extent needed to explain what the treatises cover in general. NCLC is well-known for the treatises, so I believe that spending a few sentences to describe them is appropriate. Third, I think that a small handful of citations to court cases is appropriate for the amici’s brief claim, the sentence would otherwise be without citation. Four, would you have any objection to Shurley summarizing the language struck from the lede into one or two relatively straightforward sentences? I think it’s approrpiate to give a brief description of the things NCLC does in the lede, albeit at much less detail. Spirit of Eagle (NCLC) (talk) 22:45, 6 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I've made many of the requested edits. Substantively, two of Spintendo's requested edits require additional information on NCLC's past leaders and the cited testimonies before Congress. Spirit of Eagle (NCLC) (talk) 00:14, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
