[edit]

1.

  • See MOS:OVERLINK. It's not necessary to link the USA in the lead
  • "the same high school as former San Francisco Giants teammate Randy Winn" - This would make more sense as future teammate
  • Wiklink triples
  • Wiklink left field
  • "(.371, behind Smith's .472 and Hideki Matsui's .381).[4]" - Give full name for Smith, the only Smith mentioned previously is Seth Smith back in the minors section, and it's a very common last name so it's not evident if there's a connection there.
  • Back to back sentences in the 2011 section start with "he", can this be varied?
  • "6-5 " - endash
  • "hitting a foull ball" - spelling
  • "National League East Division" - Since National League East is linked, I'm not convinced Division is necessary.
  • Piped link waivers to Waivers (baseball)
  • "He competed for an outfield spot but was released March 28." - How about "released on March 28"? Additionally, can you add if this was before or after the start of the season? I'm thinking the regular season starting in March being a thing only the last couple years, but it's still worth mentioning
  • "Schierholtz went overseas," - maybe replace overseas with "to Japan"?
  • Link guard in the basketball sense to whatever the appropriate article is

2.

  • His final MLB stats need a citation
  • Different editors have different beliefs on the reliability of SBNation. Personally, I'd consider the main masthead site with the regular contributors like Geoff Schwartz and Jon Bois and such to be reliable for noncontroversial sports-related news. The team-specific sites have less consideration of reliability. I'm not familiar with the Minor League Ball site.
  • Ref 3 is dead
  • Ref 4 is dead
  • " but was a poor defender in the outfield.[41] " - The reference doesn't seem to discuss his fielding
  • " At the trade deadline on July 31, Schierholtz was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies along with minor league catcher Tommy Joseph and minor league pitcher Seth Rosin for outfielder Hunter Pence.[62]" - Source doesn't mention the other two players
  • "During the 2015 season, he hit .250 (58-for-232), with 10 home runs and 30 RBIs in 65 games. " - The ref doesn't have the RBIs
  • Ref 8 is dead
  • Ref 17 needs a subscription required parameter
  • Refs 51-53 look like game summaries with titles and everything in the refs, but the URL takes me to MLB Gameday box scores, with no wrap or any game summary. Same with 61 and 67, 72, 73, 75-78. The URL appears to be aimed at the recaps, but these aren't available for some reason, so it redirects to the box score.
  • Ref 91 is dead
  • Ref 90 is dead

3.

  • Year and place of birth should be added to early life
  • Is his brother's DUI really relevant to this? I'd say it's off-topic to discuss his family member's crimes when he didn't participate in them
  • Not sure if mom's house burning down is relevant either. His brother playing college ball is, though.
    • It's common in articles to have information on family members. For instance, many articles give the parents' occupation when it is known. Furthermore, the sources cited probably wouldn't have reported on the info if those people weren't related to Schierholtz. Reporting on the crime would be improper if it was alleging that Nate was involved, but I'm merely stating the facts. Besides, with the brother, Nate said that he would be giving him the support he needed. Sanfranciscogiants17 (talk) 12:45, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
      • It's from a reliable source, so it passes WP:BLP. It's policy compliant, so the GA requirement is met.

  • Parents can be moved up to the early life once the date of birth is added

That's it for the first round
