Family Discussion

[edit]

Hello, Dr. Winston is my great uncle. Any help on correct format for this page or more information would be greatly appreciated.Wattssw

Dr. Winston is my father. I am Nat Winston III, my son is Nat Winston IV, and my grandson is Nat Winston V. Nat V is now 5 years old. I am 54, retired with disabilities from a car wreck, and spend my time now researching and photographing wild birds.
My father is quite the musician, playing some 7 or more instruments fluently. His mother was a concert pianist. My father is also one of the best Psychiatrists in the world and an avid student of human cultures around the world. Quite a remarkable man. Both my father and I live in Nashville, TN.Thornius 04:56, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Nat Winston III[reply]

Being related to Nat Winston Jr I can honestly say the part about him being a struggling Banjo player is silly. He was going to med school and both he and his wife came from wealthy families. He was never a "struggling" musician. His hobby is playing music... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Grandbabye (talkcontribs) 05:16, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

My mother brought up Nat Winston, Jr. in conversation today. She grew up in Johnson City with him and was in class and friends with his sister, Amy. She brought him up in the context of my little boy who collects rocks and said he reminded her of Mr. Winston "back in the day." Apparently, Mr. Winston would ride the bus to the river on a frequent occasion to collect arrowheads. My mother's Aunt Nanny often rode with him and they had quite an ongoing dialogue. My mother recalls that he was the head of the ROTC in her high school. My parents later went to Japan as missionaries. It was when they were home on furlough visiting "Aunt Nanny" in the hospital that he came to the hospital on some unrelated business and discovered my mother, his sister's friend, was related to Aunt Nanny. He told my mother at that time that he needed to be in Nashville every night at 6pm. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.183.131.75 (talk) 20:50, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
