This page should be deleted. I've restored the original article with the correct spelling Nasarpur.

This is very strange. My changes have been revertced without any discussion. The very first sentence in the article reads "Nasarpur,[1] is a town in the Sindh province of Pakistan". However, quite astonishingly, the title of the page is "Nasirpur. Even the map given in the page is titled as "Nasarpur". I do not find any reason to title the page as Nasirpur instead of unanimously agreed name "Nasarpur". I insist, there's absolutely no dispute among local people on the spelling of the name of the town.

- Your change was reverted because you made it without reaching a consensus in advance. I explained the revert in the edit summary and further explained it on your talk page. Moving/Renaming this article will be controversial. There is a history to be seen in the edit history of this article and the redirect. Maintaining the history is an additional reason not to move the article as you attempted to. Please review the edit histories for some perspective. The article was moved from Nasarpur to Nasirpur in 2008. Official spellings are not always the preferred spelling in Wikipedia. See Wikipedia:Article_titles#Use_commonly_recognizable_names Gab4gab (talk) 14:56, 16 May 2016 (UTC)
- Hello!, the town's name is Nasarpur, that's its official name, recognized by the government. It is an ancient town named after the Abbassid Era governer Nasr bin Muhammad bin al-Asha'ath al-Khuzai'i نصر بن محمد بن الأشعث الخزاعى (the son of Muhammad ibn al-Ash'ath al-Khuza'i). There's no evidence or precedent for referring to it as "Nasirpur".

- Still Wikipedia policy sometimes results in not using the 'official name.' If you've reviewed the edit history of both this article and the redirect you are aware that this has been an item of conflict beginning in 2008. While you say there is no evidence or precedent you have seen in the edit history that some editors would dispute that. See Wikipedia:Moving a page and Wikipedia:Requested moves for details on how to request a move. Because this has been a issue for years and the move is now complicated it would need to be done as a requested technical move. The move would need to be handled by an administrator.
