To the IP editor reverting back to the version without images, full of uncited and irrelevant OR text - please don't blindly revert improvements to this article without discussing them here. If you have any specific concern list them here--Sodabottle (talk) 20:27, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

checking through older edits, i see you have been converting this article into one on "kuravar". This is a specific article on "Narikuravar" alone. please create a new article instead of trying to dump content into this one.--Sodabottle (talk) 20:39, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Kurava" redirects here, but there's a distinction?

[edit]

We had a redlink for Kuravar, and then I found Kurava as an alternate spelling bluelink, but it redirects here to Narikurava. I take it from the above debate that Narikurava is not precisely the same thing as Kurava? Do we need then to undo the redirect and make a separate article Kurava?

I'm going to go ahead and make Kurava a separate article and just get some basic info up onto it. I'm not totally clear on the relation to the Narikurava, so I'm going to just have them as a "see also". MatthewVanitas (talk) 16:18, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Origin

[edit]

One cannot refer to the Dom (not: Domar) and link them to a Dravidian-speaking group and by that draw a line to European Gypsies. Besides this, neither in Hindi nor in Tamil a word for "Gypsies" exists. This term was coined by the British for some superficial reasons. There is no proof whatsoever that all those groups labeled as Gypsies in India and Sri Lanka are "realatives" of European Gypsies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A0A:A540:EF8C:0:CCE0:7771:C617:34F4 (talk) 17:05, 5 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
