NPOV problems

This article has some minor NPOV problems, including (but not limited to) phrases such as "[...] although he is the least exalted of the half-dozen great artists who are usually grouped around that name, he sometimes produced works of the highest quality" and sentences like "Díaz's finest pictures are his forest scenes and storms, and it is on these, and not on his pretty figures, that his fame is likely to rest."

(The article also reads as if it had been translated from another language--possibly French--into English, but not markedly enough to justify a RoughTranslation marker. It just reads a little oddly.) JiveTalkinChoirBoy (talk) 09:21, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Name

The Penguin Dictionary of Art and Artists (7th ed) and The Oxford Dictionary of Art, and most websites spell his name Vigile not Virgilio. The National Gallery, London is the exception here.
