[edit]To answer NHearn's questions...
1. Stubs: Do I need stubs? If so, how do I know what stubs I need to use, where can I find a full list of stubs to choose from? And, how do I type the stub into the wiki? ie. format of stub in wiki
2. Categories: I have added two categories but not absolutely sure I have chosen the correct categories. How do I choose categories? Some of the categories I thought it was offering as pre-existing actually did not exist at all.
3. Search keywords: This I am at a complete loss. I realize that one wiki is linked to another and so on, and how to do this [[]]. However, the wiki is named NanoScale Corporation. However, if I simply type NanoScale in the search bar, it redirects me to a wiki about nanotechnology.... Obviously redirects will not fix this issue, how do I fix it, so that the first word of the name when used as a search word, gives the option to view NanoScale Corporation or the nanotechnology wiki, and the same with NanoScale Corp?
Thank you! —Preceding unsigned comment added by NHearn (talk • contribs) 17:50, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
- Stub tags are a way to identify a short article in need of expansion. I don't think this article is really a stub article, it certainly has more information that what one usually finds in a stub article. See WP:STUB.
- Those two categories look fine. There's no huge need to add like 100 categories to an article.
- I wouldn't fret over the search keywords. The "search" function in the toolbar updates its database somewhat less often than does the articles themselves. It isn't a keyword search, it only works using the title of the article; once the database that indexes that function is updated, it should work properly. You may want to add a hatnote, such as {{Redirect}} to the top of the "Nanotechnology" article to catch people who search for the related term looking for this company.
As an aside, given that this is a small company, and it is your first article at Wikipedia, you should read WP:COI. It kinda seems like you have a vested interest in the company... And as another aside, what you wrote is not called a "wiki". The software that runs the website is called a "wiki" See MediaWiki and Wiki. What you wrote is called an "encyclopedia article". That's what Wikipedia is, an encyclopedia, after all. There's a list of things that Wikipedia definately is NOT which you may want to read as well. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 20:51, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
