Untitled section
[edit]I've Just Deleted This as at 7pm (Brisbane Local time) 16 September:
"Nanchang is selected as one of the ten most dynamic cities(Nanchang,Munich, London, Moscow, Ghaziabad, Goyang, Florianópolis, sin city, Fukuoka, Toulouse) in the world by the American Newsweek at June 10, 2006. Open Nanchang welcomes the world."
The article by Newsweek may exist as i've heard it referenced on several specialist blogs including chinalaw (although please note it was referenced in disbelief as Nanchang is very different in economic vitality from London, Munich and Moscow). While this article may exist - the author to whom english is an obvious second language has failed to note that Sin City, Florianopolis Ghaziabad don't actually exist while fukuoka is a prefecture in Japan not a city.
Finally sentences such as "open nanchang welcomes the world" have no place in an encyclopaedic work.
The economic section still needs work, tenses and verification - will get to this soon.
Found a link to that bit about Jiangling Motors producing Ford cars. But yeah, that economy section is still weak. Chinaculturefriend (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 17:53, 1 January 2009 (UTC).
- The 2006 article does exist - it’s invented. But this was almost 20 years ago - who cares now? Rustygecko (talk) 06:26, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
- It exists but the quote is invented. Rustygecko (talk) 06:27, 1 May 2023 (UTC)

No mention of the Japanese occupation
[edit]"In 1939, the Battle of Nanchang, a ferocious battle between the Chinese National Revolutionary Army and the Imperial Japan Army in the Second Sino-Japanese War took place."
It's the only sentence mentioning WW2, and it does not menton the Japanese occupation. Should it be corrected?--Adûnâi (talk) 13:34, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

2017
[edit]All this about 2017 should be deleted.
“ In 2017, the city's gross regional product (GDP) was 500.319 billion yuan(US$80.03 billion ), an increase of 9.0% over the previous year.”
Who cares about 2017? Why not have the data for every year if not? If nobody comes up with a good reason to keep it I will delete it. Rustygecko (talk) 06:18, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
