I checked Malo and Kepelino, no Nana Ula. Makali'i and 'Iao have been named as great navigators to Hawai'i. The migration from Tahiti is usually said to be headed by Pa'ao. Can you please provide references? Mahalo. Makana Chai (talk) 03:00, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Per Beckwith, there is a Nana Ulu who is the progenitor of many chiefs. Assuming that is the person this article is about, I'll keep reading and revise this later. Makana Chai (talk) 19:56, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notable?

I am sure this personage is notable in the context of Hawaiian history, and yet there are so many others of similar notability not covered in WP. I think it might be best to delete this article for now and put on a to-do list an article on the Polynesian discoverers of Hawai'i. If this article is to be saved, at least the title is wrong, if not the content, so it should be fixed asap. However, it will be a long while before I get to it. What do you all think? That's a good proposal, but I don't have time to do this right now. I'm researching my new book (on ho'oponopono) and don't want to get into something else right now. I don't know how much of the article is true, so don't feel confident editing.
