Cosmetic surgery?
[edit]"In addition, Kempner is credited as being perhaps one of the first women to undergo cosmetic surgery." I really doubt that this statement is accurate. Cosmetic surgery has been around for a good chunk of human history. This website, http://www.plasticsurgery.org/History.cfm, is a quick source. There are many books on the subject. Honestly, I think a little common sense would tell you that a woman born in 1930 would not be among the first. Even by arbitrarily saying that "modern" cosmetic surgery started with the 20th century, she was 30 years too late and hopefully she waited until she was at least 20 before she had surgery, which makes her 50 years late and so on.StaceyM 04:22, 25 September 2005 (UTC)
I won't question the plastic surgery statement; she made the claim herself (perhaps a quote). Very good entry, only one addition: something about how thin she was?
- Absolutely. I once saw her at a MOMA event, and I have never seen anyone so thin, either before or since. If someone could get some stats (height, weight, etc.), that would be great. Incidentally, she did not look anorexic at all, just very thin; how do they do it? 207.237.79.219 (talk) 10:06, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
It doesn't matter if she made the claim herself, it's not true. If it is a quote it should be stated as such.
What's up with the "Is it art" section?
[edit]That entire section is clearly just someone's personal opinion, it's even written in the first person. What's up with this - I think the whole section should be deleted, right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.90.0.206 (talk) 04:13, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
