Name reactions in Chinese Wikipedia

[edit]

Look at the articles about name reactions in Chinese Wikipedia. Why don't they translate the names into Chinese? --128.232.251.137 (talk) 13:33, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Name reaction"???

[edit]

"Name reaction" is grammatically incorrect. I hope this atrocious aberration is doomed. "Named reaction" is grammatically correct.

Names don't react. I wonder how "name reaction" ever got coined. Was it a non-native speaker of English? Was it an international mistake (like the apparent undeclared international conspiracy to rename every known named disease (e.g. Hodgkin's lymphoma → grammatically incorrect Hodgkin lymphoma)?

I wonder why "name reaction" seems to prevail over "named reaction" (4:1, counting Google hits). I wonder how it was ever tolerated. How can authors and editors even bring themselves to say or write "name reaction"? A876 (talk) 21:51, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
